Jessica Lovers Unite! (^_^;;)
Recent update: ever since I came back to working on this site full time, I've become more and more annoyed at the way the West treats the style of lolicon, while quietly ignoring it's opposite number, shotacon, like this form of innuendo is fine, because it's a young boy involved and not a young girl. This became especially evident to me with sites like WWOEC, which is precisely why I'm making it my business to spread the former format with gusto. Not only am I hoping to open people's minds about the subject and the fact that it is no more offensive or sinister than any other form of hentai, but with any luck piss off as many non-believers as I can at the same time (^_^;)
Essentially, I have more than 400,000 images now, something like 6,000 dojinshi/adult manga, a third of which is lolicon material. These numbers continue to grow as well with each new contribution to the site. In fact, I would say the estimation given by that Japanese guy is probably a little out of date now, with 10,000 titles online being a much more realistic figure (*_*)
Hello there, fellow Hentai-kun-tachi (^_^;;;)
Major update: I'm so peed off with the derision the West treats the style of anime with, my only goal now is to spread it as far and wide as possible, and to annoy everyone who hates it as much as possible in the process (*_*)
So, tell your friends, I have more than 170,000 images, 2,000 dojinshi (although recent additions have probably swollen this figure considerably), and god knows who many prints left over from my eBay (SDC, remember (^_^) sales, all for sale at reasonable prices, and the numbers keep growing all the time (last estimate by one Japanese guy was 6,000 online dojinshi over there (^_^;) I specialise mainly in puni and lolicon, but if you're after something special that you don't find on any of my pages, let me know, and I'll scour all the Japanese webpages I know for something (and boy are there a lot these days).
Major update - About my new site
Even before eBay pulled my About Me page, claiming it was linked to adult material (despite literally thousands of dojinshi being for sale on their servers day in, day out), I've wanted to do a proper hentai site where like-minded otaku can exchange ideas, dojinshi, CG, etc., but until Justin came up with the name of an Australian server, I couldn't do anything for fear of being shut down (most British servers won't allow hentai, you see, and certainly not lolicon).
Now, having checked and double checked that such material is allowed on my new site, I fully intend to share my experiences with the rest of the otaku world. Of course, I'm pretty sure the fans will hate it, as will the average woman, PTA representative, Christian advocate, etc., but no-one is forcing them to look at it, just as no-one forces me to take part in their mundane existences (isn't free speech wonderful), so, as the Japanese say "shou ga nai na!"
Anyway, what you will eventually find on my site will be a categorised system of my favourite anime characters, broken down into their component shows, with lists for CG, dojinshi, and any prints I have left over. Everything will be for sale, but I fully intend to have some stuff available for download. You may even find some real dojinshi I have for sale too (^_^)
Unlike other hentai sites, which are often awash with IE-crashing banners and broken links, you won't find a totally disorganised mess of scans, pointless game images, and tacky clips, but rather doujin material relating to the shows which have influenced me the most over the years. As such, I hope to eventually be able to offer more dojinshi than even the biggest Japanese sites, certainly much more specific titles anyway, and at a fair price per disk.
Of course, with the inclusion of polls, and a forum, visitors will be perfectly at liberty to state their feelings and what they would like to see me include on my site (just as long as it isn't too far wide of the material predominant everywhere else).
I'm so fed up with the derision the West treats the style of anime with, my only goal now is to spread it as far and wide as possible, and to annoy anyone (mainly sexually repressed women, I might add) who hates it as much as possible in the process (*O*)
Previously...
To cut a long and very boring story short, I had one too many run-ins with eBay over the sale of doujin related items, so as of this moment, I am officially boycotting them as a seller (at least until they change their Victorian policies on the sale of certain items).
So, from now on, I will be conducting sales from this site only, although you won't see very much in the way of imagery, because it would just give someone an excuse to complain to my ISP.
Basically, I think people into this stuff know exactly what etchi and hentai mean, and I'm sure they know what dojinshi usual entail, so beyond a simple list for each show (and maybe some thumbnails), you'll have to buy the CDs, if you want to see any more than that.
Ah, and don't be too put off by the prices. After all, you're not paying so much for the items, as much as the effort required for me to scan, edit, sort out, translate, compile the CDs, etc. (of which there will be more, the more I sell). Basically, I love hentai dojinshi myself, so there will never be a shortage of new stuff on my site, as I come across it on a daily basis.
Enough said (^_^)
And Before That...
I swore I would never distribute CG and dojinshi, but after pu-chi (one of my favourite dojinshi sellers on eBay, who keeps getting his auctions stopped by the way) pointed out that very few of these artists bother to ask permission before they go ahead and plagiarise all the chracters they do, I thought, what the hell!
Anyway, it's better for someone like me to distribute it, someone who actually cares about the stuff, than someone on a paysite, who couldn't give a toss about what they are peddling. Plus the fact that what I'm offering is totally unique, not the miriad of crappy game images and formatted hentai manga you can easily find all over the Internet (which is why I don't bother with it anymore).
So, tell your friends, I have more than 150,000 images, 1500 dojinshi, and god knows who many prints left over from my eBay (sic) sales, all available at reasonable prices, and the numbers keep growing all the time. I specialise mainly in puni and lolicon, but if you're after something special that you don't find on any of my pages, let me know, and I'll scour all the Japanese webpages I know for something (and boy are there a lot these days).
A Quick Rant, I Think (^_^)
Note: this site now exists purely to spread the phenomenon known as dojinshi and CG-shu. It contains sections about nijicon and the multitude of Japanese terms that occur in these things. It is NOT, I repeat NOT, a fansite with boring descriptions of characters and shows, or a repository of crap scans of merchandise so commonplace, you can find it anywhere (like on rotten old eBay, for example, although it will probably be bootlegged, because they wholeheartedly support the sale of that junk, while badgering people like me, who only sell fanart of very pretty girls).
You also won't find any English translated manga or rips from bishoujo games, etc., because I stopped collecting that formatted rubbish years ago (and I'm sure you can find it elsewhere, if you really want it, although I can't imagine why).
What you will find though, are descriptions of the characters from my perspective (as an otaku), with my rating of them, along with sales of prints and CDs containing dojinshi and CG to do with said characters, at very low prices (certainly not more than the original dojinshi would have cost in Japan anyway, and certainly not for the ridiculous prices they sell for on eBay). I may even get round to adding some of the official stuff I've collected over the years too (mostly Pretty Samy and Tenchi Muyo).
So, if you're a kid, a normal fan, some sanctimonious twit (like one of my old mates) looking to cause trouble, or just don't know what any of this is about, I suggest you get lost now, because being about Japanese art, it's probably going to offend you in some way. Anyway, you have been warned, so there should be no excuse for accidental exposure now, should there.
Ah, I would also add that this site is aimed predominantly at men (no yaoi here girls), so unless you are a women who likes images of extremely cute girls, I don't think you should enter this site either (^_^)
Who the hell is this guy anyway?
Right then, let's have some boring statistical data, the kind my brother hates (^_^)
Name - Jeffrey Lane (idiot father was a Randall & Hopkirk fan apparently)
Age - 37 (I feel more like 67 now though, thanks to Jimmy's version of Jessica
Lovejoy (^_^;;;)
Sex - Male (I wish I was a toon personally, like the guy in Cool World)
Nationality - English (and definitely not proud of it (-_-)
Fond of (^_^)
Young and extremely cute 2D girls (see my nijicon page
for a better explanation of this (^_^;)
Games (mostly Tomb Raider/Doom clones these days, but I do dabble with Retro
a bit too)
Computer music (go ahead and name a systen; I've been into them all for decades
(^_^)
Japanese (need to keep up with the study though, especially those damn kanji)
Sci-fi stuff, 70s/80s shows, etc. (I watch pretty much anything related to
this category)
Not so fond of (-_-)
Real women, both Eastern & Western (bit of a misogynist, thanks to prior
aquaintances (-_-)
Marriage (totally stupid idea; it's natural to get bored with anything, no
matter what it is)
Children, especially babies and teenagers (why on earth would anyone want
one)
Pubic hair (unlike in anime, it looks and feels horrible and, what is the
point behind it!?)
Inflexible people, particularly PTA/Women's Lib reps, censors, politicians,
lawyers & religious fanatics
eBay (it really does suck donkey cock at the end of the day, as someone once
said to me)
Cameras and photographs (because they make the real world look even worse
than it already is)
Dubbing/Subtitling companies (because they only care about money, not the
language or the work)
The PC/Windows/Software (because they're still a pain to use, no matter how
fast they get)
Anything Gradius and Twinbee, just because my brother likes them (^o^)
(if you disagree with any of the above, send any hate mail to my usual email - see my contact page - but remember that this is an otaku site, so my opinions are going to far wide of the status quo).
Why bother in the first place?
Next, let's have the reasons why I bothered in the first place (^_^)
Well, let's examine those reasons in detail, shall we (^_^)
Basically, I started this site purely because eBay UK stopped some of my auctions recently (although mysteriously, not all of them), even though all I was selling were pictures of ANIMATED (you know, FANTASY) girls. None of it was that risque really, nothing stronger than etchi (and I did mark it as such), certainly not as bad as any one of the hundreds of hentai dojinshi I've seen on there anyway. However, someone obviously took offense and reported me, probably through jealousy more than anything else (from what I've read about certain sellers and eBay in the newsgroups anyway).
I like to collect fan-based Japanese anime, manga, and game art myself, I have done for years now, long after I got bored with all the formatted stuff the companies produce on a regular basis (you know, the kind of thing that is usually brought about by shows like Sailor Moon and O-jamajo Doremi, for example, shows that are little more than excuses to mass produce a lorryload of plastic junk). Sure, it's nice, it all is, and that's the problem: nothing stands out; nothing is unique; all mass-produced and too readily available.
In words similar to Patrick McGoohan's of The Prisoner fame:-
"I am not a fan; I am an otaku!"
And for those unenlightened on the subject: yes, there is a difference (^_^)
Don't get me wrong; I do like the original stuff, I just don't collect it anymore. To be honest, I love the characters, the stories, the music, etc., I just hate the way the companies put it all together (constantly recycling the same old tut to release yet another book, game, doll, etc., and charging a mint for it too), and here I'm referring to Sailor Moon and Tenchi Muyo/Pretty Samy most of all, because they are NOT what I imagined the shows to be at the end of the day, and both resulted in bitter disappointment (more on this at a later date).
Of course, like most people, I started off with the newsgroups and websearches, downloading rips from games, dojinshi scans, etc., but it wasn't until I started to learn Japanese that I began to understand what a vast area of interest this is. In Japan, no-one bothers with scans or grabs (and neither do I anymore), instead preferring to draw their own, and not for profit either, purely for something to do most of the time (I understand university over there is a doss compared to the West).
There are literally tens of thousands of these artists circles, most who have webpages, adding up to possibly millions of self-made images, many from shows and games totally unheard of over here (and conventions like Comiket actract more interest in a weekend than even our biggest shows as well: they even have conventions for individual shows too, like the Pretty Mutation ones in Yokohama), and it is this obscure stuff that I became enamoured with (^_^;)
However, I realize that not everyone can read Japanese and use search engines like Surfer's Paradise. So, I figured, maybe I can provide these people with something both rare and beautiful and make a few pennies (and I do stress pennies because the prints themselves are practically free; it's the frames I make my money on, which no-one is obligated to buy, of course) in the process, just as circles of artists do at Comic Market with their dojinshi.
I did actually consider starting a magical girl site a long time ago. It was to be mostly about Pretty Samy, and the beauty and eroticism surrounding probably anime's most coquettish character (and it was going to be in Japanese as well). However, it got put on hold due to a total lack of interest, even in Japan (barr a few good sites).
However, that said, now I have been sort of coerced into starting one after all, I intend to throughly explore such subjects as moemoe and nijicon, mainly just to find out if I really am the only person in the West who thinks Sasami (or whoever you happen to like) is better than any real girl could ever hope to be (^_^;)
Anyway, now that this latest update is completed, there will be no more trading on eBay at all. In fact, I'm boycotting them because of their stupid policies (not to mention exorbitant fees and derision for the average seller). Sales will now only be carried out from this website, and if you've bought anything from me before, whether it be on here or on eBay, you'll know that I always deliver the goods (or at least try to).
Anyway, now that it's had a bit of an update, everything is more organised, with different categories for shows and games, each one with its own set of PayPal links to speed things up further. Some of them will be on eBay too from time to time, but most are only available privately through this site (such as the etchi stuff). Those of you who have bought something from me before will know how things work, but for those who don't, I'll explain briefly here (please refer to the sales page for more information).
Quite simply, you can either bid on the ones I have on eBay (if you're worried about feedback, etc.), or you can buy them directly from me (as in the case of past sales and the etchi ones). All you really need to do is choose the pictures you like, let me know your requirements, and I'll do the rest.
There's no need to worry about getting ripped off though; I have a fairly high rating on eBay now, and I've sold quite a few pictures to various satisfied individuals now (quite large batches in a couple of cases). This site was formed purely to give people the choice that eBay won't allow me to offer, not to deprive people of their hard-earned cash (^_^)
Why aren't there any CG or dojinshi on your site or links to the original artists' webpages?
And there never will be either, for three reasons:-
1) There are simply too many of them, and are so big collectively (for example:
Pretty Samy comes to well over 100MB combined), they would overload my server
in no time.
2) Many of the artists' sites have either moved or no longer exist, meaning
I don't know where they are anymore (meaning links are crap next to search
engines like Surfer's Paradise anyway).
These two reasons are why I ask that you don't send me requests for CG or URLs, that and the fact that I'm too busy with this site, requests for items, and my nijicon obsession to accomodate you (^_^)
In any case, I'm not charging a mint for my CDs, or any of the other stuff for that matter, and you should bear in mind that dojinshi sell for a lot of money on eBay (I know, because I've bought over 100 of them), so for a small consideration, you are getting access to very exclusive material indeed.
3) Because many Japanese artists get ticked off when their work ends up being used on a foreign website without credit or permission (not to mention altered, distributed, or sold: as in newsgroups, paysites, CD collections on eBay, etc.).
I thought long and hard about this last reason myself, because technically, I don't have permission from all the artists I have on my site to print out their works either, even if I am selling them practically for free. I can only really go by the artists I've had contact with really, such as Kazuneko, who wasn't too bothered about distribution, just as long as you didn't take credit for, or get rich off his work (which some people have been doing, according to what I've heard). I mean, I did tell him at one point that his dojinshi were being sold on eBay by unscrupulous sellers for ten times what he sold them for, and although he wasn't too happy about it, he relented that there was little he could do about it.
My feelings on this issue?
Me personally, as I've told many of them in the past (which is why they sent me some of their works, I expect), I would never distribute CG, claim it was mine, or alter it in any way either. I know that many of them are very proud of their websites and don't like the idea of people stealing their works. Some have even formed a union called Online Fanarts Protection, although I have only seen a couple of sites who are actually members so far (I remember Circle Heron is one of them, a site mainly about O-jamajo Doremi).
Of course, this could be becauae many of them accept there is little anyone can do to stop people downloading their CG, as is true of almost anything digital on the Internet today. In any case, I do have to admit that I was a bit surprised by the audacity of this move really, seeing as many of them probably never asked the companies who created these characters orginally if they could use them either (let alone create etchi versions of them; not that I'm complaining or anything (^_^;)
It occurs to me that the Internet would be a very barren place if everyone actually followed the guidelines laid out by this union (my brother's Gradius site, like most gaming fan sites, would end up with little or no content, that is for sure), though surely, this should also include plagiarisation of other people's works too (meaning most of their member's sites would end up with little or no content either).
Naturally, I don't want this to happen either way, because many good sites invariably contain material that belongs or belonged to someone else at some point, but like my site, I think making people aware of something that is both very beautiful and very striking, something that would disappear into obscurity (especially in Japan, where everything is used up and thrown away within the shortest time imaginable) outweighs any one person's feelings (something the Japanese, with their team approach to everything, should understand).
In any case, this probably goes a long way to explaining why you hardly ever see disclaimers on these artist's sites relating to the original copyright holders though (and why names are often blurred or crossed out, or deliberately written with the wrong kanji), not to mention all this ridiculous nonsense over censorship still (something the companies stopped bothering with years ago now). Ah, and the fact that they charge so little for their work too (I remember this fact when I asked Rin and ODA if I could pay for their works: they just wouldn't accept any money).
Don't get me wrong; I have the upmost respect for artists such as Kazuneko, and would never do anything to harm them, but this recent development (which seems, at best, to be simple hypocrisy) leads me to believe that this could just be a continuation of the Japan for the Japanese argument (or the one rule for us: one rule for everyone else syndrome, or maybe something a lot more sinister, like a secret society Sumo or Masons type thing). I mean, surely copyright has to apply to everyone, whether it's a multi-billion yen corporation like Square, for example, or some otaku in his bedroom (it just seems like a double standard to me, and I hope it's non-contagious).
So, to sum up: I agree mostly with what Japanese artists are doing, creating and distributing works, which are often as big an eye-opener as the originals, not to make money, but to get noticed (which is fine, because if anything, it ends up making the original company even more money as more and more people become aware of their work. I mean, this is how I discovered many a show or game myself, such as To Heart, for example).
However, I can't say I agree entirely with what this union is saying, and especially not the part that seems to give artists some special immunity to the rules (they also seem to target people who are really nothing more than fans, rather than all the people - the ones I mentioned above - getting rich off it). Sure, no-one has the right to alter someone else's work, or claim it is their own, but saying you can't download something, not even to create a site dedicated to that person, or to show to the world that what passes for original merchandise isn't all that anime has to be, is going a bit too far (what ever happened to imitation is the sincerest form of flattery (^_^)
Incidently, I would just like to add that I haven't actually had any complaints at all about my site, not from even one disgruntled artist. I just though I'd air my views on this new development (although this union has been around for nearly 2 years now, according to their website, which strangely enough, is only written in (poor) English or Spanish. Now I wonder which country could possibly have these as the venacular (^_^)
Ah, and while I'm at it, I'd better say that this is not a hentai site and it is not a place where you will find rips of pictures from games or scans of commonplace (and therefore crap) dojinshi. If you want those things (although I can't imagine why, given how formatted all that stuff is), look in the newsgroups or search the Internet for it (although without Japanese knowledge, you'll have a hard time finding anything decent, especially where dojinshi are concerned).
Anyway, this site is purely about Japanese fanart and the artists that produce it (you know, the stuff that most uninformed Western collectors of the above think is rubbish, because they have never really experienced it as fully as I and a few others have). Although you won't find the original images on here (they are simply too big and would overload my server in days if I put up the same amount as I have prints for sale), for a small fee, you get to keep a very rare piece of art, the sort of thing that is almost unheard of over here (quite a different story from all the commonplace merchandise, which you can buy at countless online anime shops and on eBay), and in my opinion at least, is often better than the originals anyway (^_^)
